Once you receive a confirmation of payment, your reservation is guaranteed. In order to maintain our commitment to all of our guests, Dive Rarotonga operates cancellation policy as follows:
NOTE: For shop bookings the full amount is required to make a booking
If you cancel your dives/package, for whatever reason, the cancellation policy is as follows:
For multiple dive packages, all dives are to be paid for in full prior to diving on the first day of the dives.
*A no show for whatever reason, including but not limited to flight delays, hangovers or just not getting out of bed will mean loss of payment!
For guided dives you may change the date of your reservation for free if you advise us more than 48 hours before the dive date and alternative dates are available. This can be done via email or by phoning (+682) 21.873 or FREE in the Cook Islands on 0800 DIVE. We do not allow swapping booked dives from one person to another.
If you cannot complete scheduled dives due to ill health, there will be no refund. If we have space available and can arrange new dive dates to finish your dives, we will happily move your dive dates. If you require a letter for travel insurance purposes to claim the value of these dives we are happy to oblige. As we said, all changes are subject to availability.
For divers that have been out of the water for over 12 months we strongly suggest that you book a refresher before your dives. If you do not book a refresher and our dive masters/instructors believe safety is an issue you will not be allowed to enter the water.
We accept bookings from SSI, PADI, NAUI, BSAC, TDI, SDI, IANTD and CMAS qualified divers. For our guided dive trips you need to be an Open Water diver or equivalent with a qualification that includes dives up to 18m. If you hold a PADI/SSI 'Scuba Diver 12m' qualification your limit for scuba diving is 12m and you require direct supervison - please contact us for suitable trips prior to booking. If you haven't dived for several months (or longer) we strongly suggest you complete a pool refresher prior to boat dives.
Our group guided dives are guided by a dive professional. This dive leader is not there to compensate for divers who have been poorly trained or are incapable of diving due to lack of knowledge, or who have fitness issues. If you believe you need special help, book an instuctor led experience instead.
This deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE for any reason - Why?.. This is because we have to pay SSI when we register you for online training and spaces for courses are limited.

If you cancel your Try Scuba session or PADI/SSI Referral course, for whatever reason, the cancellation policy is as follows:
For learn to scuba courses you need to be able to swim 200m and tread water for 10 mins to demonstrate water confidence/fitness. For all courses you must be able to answer 'NO' to all the medical questions or be signed off as 'fit to dive' by a doctor using the appropriate paperwork.
If you cannot complete a scheduled course part way through due to ill health or another reason, there will be no refund.
For most courses there is a theory element to complete for knowledge development that includes online training. This online training is compulsory and must be completed BEFORE the start of the course. If you do not complete the study prior to arriving on the island it may be difficult whilst here due to internet speeds on Rarotonga. You will not be able to start the course if this theory is not completed and we do not refund your deposit!
We have a minimum age requirement of 16 years for our standard guided dives, 14 years for Discover Scuba and the PADI Scuba Diver course. This increases to 16 years for other courses/experiences up to Adventure and Advanced Open Water and 18 years for Rescue - Instructor.
For Scuba Diver and Open Water courses we require a minimum of two students to run a course. If you would like book for one person just you send us an email and check what courses are running. :o)
Your credit card will be charged as soon as your reservation can be confirmed - this is normally within 24 hours of sending your reservation to us. If the date that you choose is unavailable Dive Rarotonga will offer an alternative day or time and confirm this with you before making any charges to your card.
We are sorry, but as a rule we do not take bookings from cruise ship customers. The cruise ship arrivals/departures do not fit in with our normal schedule and a large percentage don't offload, or offload late. The only exception is if you are part of a group of divers and want to book the complete boat, then feel free to contact us for more info.
Dive Rarotonga would like you to you to feel safe when making a secure reservation online. For this reason we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your credit card and other sensitive information when you make reservations for our dives packages and courses. The process of encryption prevents unauthorized individuals from viewing your information as it is securely transmitted over the internet. Once received, your credit card information is not transmitted over the internet again.
On the day of your dive, you must bring your credit card and your qualification card with you. For more details, check in our store on arrival.
All diving is weather permitting, so, if for weather or any reason be it mechanical or staff sickness Dive Rarotonga has to cancel dives the following refunds apply.
Certified dive trips and Try Scuba: If Dive Rarotonga must change your diving date or time, you will be offered a full refund or alternative dates. For part completed dive packages this refund will be pro rata of the dive trips completed.
