| So you would like to explore the island, but you need transport? Well there are plenty of ways to get around the island. The most popular transport is a scooter or the bus service so we have included some information here that may be useful. | ||||||
| Scooter and car hire | ||||||
| To drive a scooter a car or for that matter any motorised vehicle here on Rarotonga you'll need to get a Cook Island Driver's License. This can be obtained from the police station in Avarua and for scooters usually involves a short test unless you hold a bike license from another country. There are plenty of people who hire out scooters from around $12/day and cars too, so here are a few telephone numbers. | ||||||

Clockwise bus departs Cook's Corner on the hour 7:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Saturday. Sunday 8:00am-12:00pm, 2:00pm-4:00pm (clockwise only) |
Anti Clockwise bus departs Cook's Corner at 25mins. past the hour from 8:25am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday. And from 8:30am-12:30pm Saturdays only. NO Sunday Anti-Clockwise bus service. | |||||

There is NO Anti-clockwise bus
and there is no evening bus on Sundays. Night Bus departs Cook's corner every hour Monday to Thursday from 6pm until 11pm. On Friday evening it departs every hour from 6pm until 10pm with a later service at 12am and 2am. Saturday evening bus operates every hour 6pm to 11pm. |
