| Introduction Dive Rarotonga is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information you might provide via our website. This policy explains how we manage personal information and the security precautions taken. Collection of personal information Dive Rarotonga collects information about online customers and other website users, including: personal information provided voluntarily when completing a booking or other online transaction website usage information through tracking individual website users' click behaviour aggregated data, measuring traffic to the websites but not relating to you personally. If you choose not to provide personal information when requested, certain services may not be available to you online. Details including your name, address, email address, telephone number, scuba qualification and credit card number will be required in order to process your dive/course bookings online. We may also request additional information. For example, we may ask for details such as when you last dived and how many dives you have completed to date. Protection of personal information When you book coures or dives, a secure server is used. Dive Rarotonga uses industry standard data encryption for transmission of any personal information including credit card details you provide online. Known as SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol, you can check this is active by looking for the padlock symbol on many browsers. SSL allows a secure connection between your web browser and our web server, using a private (or secret) key to encrypt the information. This encryption provides greater consumer protection than many forms of offline credit card payment. Dive Rarotonga makes no warranty in respect of the effectiveness of encryption used and Dive Rarotonga is not responsible for events arising from unauthorised access of the information you provide. Use of information Dive Rarotonga collects personal information for the following purposes: 1) to assist in providing the services you request, including dive and course bookings 2) to process any communications you request 3) internal research 4) to verify your identity and assist you if you forget your login or password details on our website and any other use that you authorise Disclosure of personal information Dive Rarotonga will not sell, or allow third parties access to your information without your approval. However, from time to time Dive Rarotonga may disclose information collected to: 1) government agencies and departments for the purpose of meeting their requirements 2) communications agencies used to fulfil your communication requests 3) trusted business partners, provided Dive Rarotonga has your prior authorisation, to help us process the information for specific projects such as PADI and BSAC Otherwise, your information will not be passed on to any other third party unless it is authorised or required by law. Disclosures may include the transfer of your personal information between countries. Access to and correction of information You may request access to and correction of your information, or request Dive Rarotonga access and correct your information, at any time. If you have registered as a user on a Dive Rarotonga website, you may access and update your information by logging in with your username and password. You may also unsubscribe from Dive Rarotonga's email communications at any time by clicking on the "Unsubscribe" link in every Dive Rarotonga special offer email you receive. If at any time you are unsure of how to access or correct your information, please contact us. Cookies A cookie is a small text file which Dive Rarotonga may put on your computer's hard disk in order to recognise your computer at a later time. A cookie cannot read your hard drive or perform any commands on your computer and does not contain your name, address, telephone number, or email address.
