PADI Instructor Development FacilityPADI Assistant Instructor/Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (IDC) Overview

The PADI Instructor course is divided, like many PADI courses, into two sub component courses, the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) course, and the Open Water Scuba Instructor course (OWSI).  Both together are called the Instructor Development Course (IDC).

This gives you the option of completing an IDC in a seven day format, at a five star IDC Centre/Gold Palm Resort, or in two sections; firstly, three days for the Assistant Instructor program (this may be conducted at 5 star centre as well as an IDC centre), then completing the final 4 day OWSI program at a 5 star IDC Centre/ Gold Palm Resort.

Instructors joining from other agencies may choose to complete only the OWSI section of the program or complete both sub component programs.
