Cancellations and Changes

Once you receive a confirmation of payment, your reservation is guaranteed. In order to maintain our commitment to all of our guests, Dive Rarotonga operates cancellation policy as follows:

Dives - Deposit of $50NZ per dive trip, per diver required to make a booking

If you cancel your dives, for whatever reason, the cancellation policy is as follows:
48 hrs or more to dive date - full amount of deposit less credit card transaction fee
Less than 48 hrs - full amount will be retained *

*A no show for whatever reason, including but not limited to flight delays, hangovers or just not getting out of bed will mean loss of payment!

For guided dives you may change the date of your reservation for free if you advise us more than 48 hours before the dive date and alternative dates are available. This can be done via email or by phoning (+682) 21.873 or FREE in the Cook Islands on 0800 DIVE. We do not allow swapping booked dives from one person to another.

As we said, all changes are subject to availability.

For divers that have been out of the water for over 12 months we strongly suggest that you book a refresher before your dives. If you do not book a refresher and our dive masters/instructors believe safety is an issue you will not be allowed to enter the water.

Dive Courses from Scuba Diver to Rescue Diver - $100NZ deposit on booking, balance required to be paid prior to starting the course. Try Scuba and referral courses full amount on booking.

If you cannot complete a scheduled course due to ill health or another reason, there will be no refund.

If you cancel your course, for whatever reason, the cancellation policy is as follows:
7 days or more to dive date - full amount of deposit less credit card transaction fee
Less than 7 days - full amount will be retained *

We reserve the right to cancel a course due to insufficient student numbers. Obviously we will refund your deposit if we cancel for this reason.

Divemaster $350NZ deposit required

30 days or more to course date - full refund
Less than 30 days - full amount of deposit will be retained

Minimum Age Requirements

We have a minimum age requirement of 14 years for Discover Scuba and the PADI Scuba Diver course. This increases to 16 years for courses/experiences up to Adventure and Advanced Open Water and 18 years for Rescue - Instructor.

Transfers

If you have requested transfers from/to your accommodation you will be given a time for the pickup. For most transfers we ask customers to wait on the side of the main road. (Please be outside ready and waiting 5 mins prior to your pickup time). Note that we do not work on 'island time' and we simply can't knock on doors or wander aimlessly around properties to find missing customers. :o) If you are not out ready and waiting on time, then be aware that you could forfeit your dives!

Charges to your card

Your credit card will be charged as soon as your reservation can be confirmed - this is normally within 24 hours of sending your reservation to us. If the date that you choose is unavailable Dive Rarotonga will offer an alternative day or time and confirm this with you before making any charges to your card.

Credit Card Safety

Dive Rarotonga would like you to you to feel safe when making a secure reservation online. For this reason we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your credit card and other sensitive information when you make reservations for our dives packages and courses. The process of encryption prevents unauthorized individuals from viewing your information as it is securely transmitted over the internet. Once received, your credit card information is not transmitted over the internet again.

On the day of your dive, you must bring your credit card and your qualification card with you.

Changes made by Dive Rarotonga

All diving is weather permitting, so, if for weather or any reason be it mechanical, sickness etc. Dive Rarotonga must change your diving date or time, you will be offered a full refund or alternative dates.

If the diving times on courses need to be changed, and alternatives dates are not suitable, you will only be charged for the proportion of the course you have completed. For more details, check in our store on arrival.
